Each provider is contractually obligated to handle your information in accordance with applicable privacy and security standards and to use it only to provide services to ParcelVue. We may change service providers from time to time as our infrastructure evolves.

Cook County Assessor's Office (Tier 2 Only)

For Tier 2 (File For Me) customers, we transmit your information including the signed Cook County Assessor Attorney/Representative Authorization Form and your appeal materials to the Cook County Assessor's Office through their SmartFile system as part of filing your appeal. This sharing is necessary to provide the filing service you purchased.

Aggregated and De-identified Data

We may publish aggregated appeal outcome statistics that meet minimum sample size requirements (typically at least 5 individual outcomes per displayed segment) to prevent re-identification of individual customers. Aggregated data does not include names, email addresses, phone numbers, or specific property addresses.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, valid legal process, or governmental request.

Business Transfers

If ParcelVue is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such transaction that materially affects how your information is used.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

You may request deletion of your personal information at any time (see Section 8). Upon receiving a valid deletion request, we will delete your personal information within the timeframe required by applicable law, except where retention is required by law or necessary to complete a transaction you initiated.

7. Data Security and Breach Notification

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information. All data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Payment information is handled entirely by our payment processor, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified. Customer dashboard access uses secure authentication.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

In the event of a data breach involving your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law, typically within 30 days of discovery. Notification will describe the nature of the breach, the types of information involved, and steps you can take to protect yourself.

Residents of states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws (including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and others) may have additional rights regarding their personal information, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, the right to correct inaccuracies, the right to data portability, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right to opt out of targeted advertising and certain forms of profiling.

ParcelVue does not sell personal information and does not engage in targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising.

Illinois Residents

ParcelVue does not collect biometric information as defined under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA). ParcelVue complies with the Illinois Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), including its breach notification requirements as described in Section 7.

Florida Residents

California Residents

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), California residents have additional rights as described above. ParcelVue does not sell personal information and does not engage in cross-context behavioral advertising.

10. Cookies, Tracking, and Analytics

ParcelVue does not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, remarketing tags, or social media tracking scripts. We do not participate in cross-site tracking or behavioral advertising of any kind.

11. Communications Consent

Email Communications

By providing your email address, you consent to receive transactional emails from ParcelVue, including purchase confirmations, evidence packet delivery, appeal status updates, account access links, deadline reminders, township appeal-window notifications, and similar service-related communications. Transactional emails continue as long as your account is active or services are being provided.

You may also opt in to receive marketing emails. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email we send. Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not affect transactional emails.

SMS Text Message Communications

If you provide your phone number and consent to SMS communications, you may receive transactional SMS messages (such as appeal status updates and reminders) and, where you have separately opted in, marketing SMS messages.

By providing your phone number and consenting to SMS communications, you agree to receive recurring messages from ParcelVue at the number you provide. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP. We will not use your phone number for purposes other than those you have consented to.

SMS communications are subject to applicable federal and state laws, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. We will obtain your express written consent before sending any marketing SMS messages.

12. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for adults who are capable of entering into contracts. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18 years of age. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from an individual under 18, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For non-material changes (such as clarifications, typographical corrections, or contact information updates), we will post the revised version on this page with an updated effective date.

For material changes (such as changes to the types of information we collect, how we use or share information, or how long we retain it), we will provide at least 30 days' advance notice by email to your registered email address before the change takes effect. If you do not agree to the material change, you may close your account before the change takes effect.
